Maya L. Lopez

Maya L. Lopez, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), specializing in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. She currently serves as the Section Chief for Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics and Associate Program Director of the Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics Fellowship. Previously, she held roles as Medical Director of the James L. Dennis Developmental Center (2018–2023) and has been a faculty member since 2006, advancing from Clinical Instructor to Assistant Professor (2007), Associate Professor (2013), and Full Professor (2020).

She also leads Healthy Child Care Arkansas (HCCAR). Her work emphasizes child development and behavioral health.
