Maya Collombon is a Lecturer in Political Science at Sciences Po Lyon, currently seconded to the Center for Mexican and Central American Studies (CEMCA). Her research examines collective action, social movements, and socio-anthropological dimensions of development in Latin America, with regional focus on Nicaragua and Mexico.
Research explores authoritarian transformations, grassroots mobilization, and everyday political practices using ethnographic methodologies. Current projects analyze governance structures and citizen participation under authoritarian regimes.
Teaches courses on Latin American politics and development issues. Organized international conferences on authoritarian turns and ethnographic approaches to populism.
