Maya Ciarrocchi

Maya Ciarrocchi is a Part-Time Associate Teaching Professor in Interdisciplinary Arts at Parsons School of Design, The New School. Her practice merges visual art, performance, and technology to explore Queerness, Ashkenazi ancestry, and spatial embodiment. She holds an MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts and a BFA in Dance from Purchase College.

Research & Practice: Ciarrocchi’s work investigates vanished histories through multidisciplinary mediums including video art, immersive performance, and fiber art. Her projects address identity politics, environmental studies, and social practice, blending personal narratives with historical excavation. She has exhibited globally and secured residencies at institutions like MacDowell and Wave Hill, alongside funding from the Canada Council for the Arts and others.

Teaching: Recent courses include Multimedia Design for Live Performance and Projection Mapping at Parsons School of Design.
