Maxine Winstanley

Maxine Winstanley is a Senior Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy at the School of Allied Health Professions and Pharmacy, Keele University. She serves as Programme Director for the MSci Speech and Language Therapy program and has clinical expertise in paediatric speech and language therapy, with experience in mainstream/special schools and forensic psychiatry settings.

Education:

• PhD in Psychological Sciences, University of Manchester

Research Focus: Her work examines developmental language disorder (DLD) in youth offending populations, socioemotional difficulties, and alexithymia. She employs quantitative methodologies like Kaplan-Meier survival models and Cox regression analysis to study DLD's associations with recidivism and long-term outcomes.

Teaching: Leads modules across the MSci Speech and Language Therapy program.
