Max Kinnings

Dr Max Kinnings is a Reader in Creative Writing at Brunel University London, affiliated with the Department of Arts & Humanities within the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences. He holds a PhD in Creative Writing from Brunel and has made significant contributions to both academic and creative fields through his novels, screenplays, and theatrical productions.

Max’s work spans thriller fiction, screenwriting, and playwriting. His novels like Baptism and Sacrifice explore complex psychological themes, while his screenplays for Alleycats and The Pagan King engage with urban and historical narratives. He also co-wrote the award-winning video game Little Big Planet 3 and developed the Storyspace Summer School to enhance internationalization in creative writing education.

Max’s play Wireless Operator addresses WWII experiences and PTSD, reflecting his commitment to historical storytelling and psychological depth. His current projects include a novel on AI and cyber-stalking and a feature film adaptation of personal stories, demonstrating his diverse research interests and creative output.
