Matthew Stemler

Matthew Stemler is an Associate Professor in the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences and Program Advisor for the Visual Arts Department at Cairn University, where he has taught since 2016. He develops curriculum for visual arts and manages exhibits in the Connie A. Eastburn Gallery. Previously, he taught fine arts at the high school level for 19 years, serving as department coordinator.

His research explores:

• Graphic design with specializations in illustration, digital design, and imagery
• Studio arts emphasizing installation sculpture, painting, and drawing
• Innovative contemporary art methodologies

He actively contributes to the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Fine Arts Festival Visual Arts Team, overseeing art assessment standards and judging processes.
