Matthew Scott

Matthew Scott is a Research Fellow at the School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford. He brings three decades of experience in climate and sustainability, with a strong background in physics and business administration.

• BSc in Physics from the University of Manchester
• MBA from Stanford Business School as a Fulbright Scholar

His work focuses on climate change mitigation, sustainable finance, and environmental governance, with significant contributions to the UK's Green Finance Strategy and transition planning frameworks. He has held leadership roles at the Bank of England’s Climate Hub and the Centre for Greening Finance and Investment.

Scott is also an Associate Fellow at Said Business School, where he played a foundational role in establishing the Oxford Seed Fund. He actively contributes to global climate initiatives, including chairing the Disclosure Framework for the UK’s Transition Plan Taskforce.
