Matthew Pressman is an Associate Professor of Journalism at Seton Hall University's Department of Communication, Media and the Arts. He joined the faculty in 2016 after earning his Ph.D. in history from Boston University.
- Teaches courses: Writing for the Media, Contemporary Issues in Sports Journalism, Feature Writing, History of American Journalism, and journalism senior seminar
His research examines journalistic values, the business of news, and the intersection of journalism and politics. He authored On Press: The Liberal Values That Shaped the News, which won two major awards.

Pressman previously worked at Vanity Fair magazine for eight years as assistant editor and online columnist. He contributes to academic journals and mass-media outlets including The Atlantic, Time, and The Washington Post.
