Dr. Matthew N Eisler is a Chancellor's Fellow in History at the University of Strathclyde. His research examines the intersections of ideology, policy, and environmental science, focusing on how social and technological systems co-evolve. He is the author of two influential books: Overpotential: Fuel Cells, Futurism, and the Making of a Power Panacea (2012) and Age of Auto Electric: Environment, Energy, and the Quest for the Sustainable Car (2022).
Dr. Eisler's current project, Greenwork and Environmental Knowledge (funded by RWTH Aachen University), explores how environmental regulation shapes labor, science, engineering, and business practices through an interdisciplinary lens.
