Matthew Morrison is a Reader in the Department of Creative Writing at the University of Westminster, leading the 'Creative Writing and English Literature' and 'Creative Writing and English Language' programs. He holds affiliations with the Centre for Law, Society and Popular Culture and co-produces the Soho Poly arts venue. His research focuses on post-war alternative theatre, contemporary British playwriting, and Arctic drama. Notable works include The Soho Theatre, 1968-1981 and a 2023 article on lockdown impacts on cultural spaces. Morrison’s creative practice includes plays such as Dance (2021) and collaborations with Hannah Bruce and Company. Awards include a Museum and Heritage Award nomination and recognition for playwriting.
