Frances Poet

Frances Poet is a Reader in Playwriting and Screenwriting at the School of English, University of St Andrews, based at The Byre Theatre in St Andrews, UK.

Her research focuses on the creative and critical aspects of writing for stage and screen. She is particularly interested in:

• Playwriting techniques and dramaturgy
• Screenwriting for film and television
• Creative writing pedagogy
• Drama and performance studies
• Theatre history and contemporary practice
