Matthew Moore

Matthew Moore is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). He holds a Ph.D. from Iowa State University, an M.A. from Western Kentucky University, and a B.A. from the University of Missouri – Columbia. His work spans organized crime, terrorism, homicide, and social capital, with a focus on lethal violence and firearms research.

Moore specializes in criminological studies, including white-collar crime, deviant behavior, and suicide. His research intersects with social capital theory and lethal violence trends, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to criminology.

He actively contributes to academic governance as an Institutional Review Board (IRB) member at UCA and serves as Treasurer for the Arkansas Association of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology (ASAA). Moore maintains ASAA's website and represents the organization as a Region 6 Delegate for Alpha Kappa Delta, the Sociology National Honors Society.
