Matthew Lee is a Deputy Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at the University of Sunderland. He holds dual roles as Deputy Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Top Up) and module leader for several courses, including Practice Assessor Conversion Masterclass and modules on Equality, Diversity, Ethics, and the Law in Healthcare. His clinical background includes adult nursing in perioperative environments, with a focus on theatre efficiency and infection prevention.
Education: BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies (Adult) from Northumbria University, PGCE HE from the University of Sunderland, MSc Advancing Practice from the University of Stirling, and Fellowships from AdvanceHE (Senior Fellow).
Research Interests: 'Race' and ethnicity, EDI in healthcare, international nurse education, psychological trauma, and service innovation. He previously led service improvement projects in operating theatres, focusing on cost efficiency and patient warming protocols.
Licensed as an Adult Nurse with the NMC, he is also a Network Member of FUSE and contributes to interprofessional learning initiatives.
