Matthew Kim is an Assistant Professor of Law at the Levin College of Law, University of Florida. His scholarship focuses on criminal law, criminal procedure, civil procedure, and empirical research, with a particular emphasis on public perceptions of legal systems and compliance mechanisms.

Kim’s research explores intersections between legal doctrine and empirical analysis, including topics like judicial integrity, ethical dilemmas in legal professions, and the reputational impact of corporate criminal misconduct. His recent work investigates restorative justice frameworks and international human rights compliance.
His publications appear in leading journals such as the Ohio State Law Journal, Missouri Law Review, and Journal of East Asian Studies. Kim previously clerked for Judge Barbara Lagoa (11th Circuit) and Judge Beth Bloom (Southern District of Florida).
