Matthew F. Calabria

Matthew F. Calabria serves as a part-time Lecturer at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University and concurrently holds the position of Director for Planning and Operations in the Office of the National Cyber Director at the White House. His professional background includes 15 years of federal service, including roles at the U.S. Department of Energy and National Intelligence University.

Dr. Calabria’s research focuses on U.S. grand strategy, strategic competition, intelligence analysis, and military operational sciences. He explores interdisciplinary connections between cybersecurity policy and national security decision-making frameworks.

His academic credentials include a Doctor of International Affairs from Johns Hopkins SAIS, a Master of International Public Policy (also from SAIS), and a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from National Intelligence University. Additional certifications include Public Leadership from Brookings Executive Education and Cybersecurity from Cornell University.
