Dr. Matthew Briggs is an Associate Research Fellow at the University of Wollongong (UOW), affiliated with the School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience. Previously, he served as a Research Associate at the University of South Australia's Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics Facility under Prof. Peter Hoffmann. His academic journey includes a PhD (2018) and Honours in Biochemistry (2014) from the University of Adelaide, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Diploma of Languages (Indonesian).
His research focuses on MALDI Mass Spectrometry Imaging, Glycomics, and Lipidomics, with applications in health (e.g., cancer, osteoarthritis) and industrial sectors (e.g., agricultural products). He has authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications and presented at 13 national/international conferences, including the Annual Lorne Proteomics Symposium and Human Proteome Organization World Congress.
