Matthew Baxendale holds a PhD in Philosophy from Central European University (CEU) Budapest (awarded July 2018). He served as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Salzburg during 2016/17, funded by an Ernst Mach Grant from the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education (OeAD). His research focuses on the intersection of Philosophy of Science, particularly Philosophy of Biology and Life Sciences, with interests in scientific pluralism, levels of organisation, scientific metaphysics, explanation, and causation.
