Matteo Motolese is a Full Professor of Italian Linguistics at the Department of Modern Literature and Culture, Sapienza University of Rome. He specializes in the history of the Italian language from the Trecento to the Novecento, focusing on literary language, grammatical codification, and the relationship between philology and historical linguistics.
