Matt Reichel

Matt Reichel serves as an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Journalism and Digital Communication at the University of South Florida (USF), where his teaching focuses on journalism practice, media writing, and media ethics.

His research centers on the intersection of social movements—particularly teachers' movements—with digital communication technologies, examining privacy concerns in the digital age and ethical implications of communication platforms. Supporting interests include alternative journalism, revolutionary theory, autonomist Marxism, and radical pedagogy. Reichel develops theoretical frameworks analyzing how discourse and pedagogy catalyze radical shifts in social consciousness amid digitization and neoliberal crises.
