Matt Bollinger is an Assistant Professor at the School of Art & Design at Purchase College, SUNY. He received his MFA in Painting with Honors from the Rhode Island School of Design (2007) and a BFA in Painting/Creative Writing (Valedictorian) from the Kansas City Art Institute (2003), with additional studies at Yale University's Norfolk Summer Session (2002). He is represented by mother’s tankstation and François Ghebaly Gallery.

Bollinger’s work explores narratives from personal experiences and fictional situations, using painting, drawing, and stop-motion animation to deconstruct and rebuild memories. His exhibitions have been reviewed in major publications such as The New York Times, Hyperallergic, Art in America, and The Huffington Post.
Selected Trends in Work: Bollinger’s practice spans visual storytelling, memory reconstruction, and alter-ego creation, often grounded in American everyday life and working-class themes. He frequently integrates hand-painted stop-motion animation with canvas-based works.
