Duane Slick, a Meskwaki painter and storyteller, is a Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where he has taught painting and printmaking since 1995. A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa (BFA) and the University of California, Davis (MFA), his artistic practice spans black-and-white photo-realist paintings on linen and glass, often described as 'dream paintings' centered on spiritual exploration.

Slick’s work has been exhibited nationally, including at the Albert Merola Gallery in Provincetown, MA, and RK Projects in New York City.
