About
Mats Andersson is a Research Professor and Director of the Flinders Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology at Flinders University. Previously, he held a Chair in Polymer Chemistry at Chalmers University of Technology (2007-2015) and served as Head of the Division of Applied Chemistry (2008-2012). He earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Chalmers in 1995 and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
His research focuses on conducting polymers, nanotechnology, and energy-related materials such as polymer solar cells and photocatalysts. Key achievements include the Arrhenius Medal (2011), Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences membership (2012), and a South Australian Chair in Energy (2013).
Recent work emphasizes scalable fabrication techniques for organic photovoltaics, photocatalytic hydrogen evolution, and advanced material characterization. His publications span over three decades, addressing topics like polymer morphology, interface engineering, and nanoscale material design.
