Mathias Hinke

Mathias Hinke is a Lecturer in Composition/Experimental Music at Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK) and member of the Querklang experimental music pedagogy team. He joined UdK's faculty in 2016 after a guest professorship (2015-2016). His work combines composition with physics and art history, developed through studies at Manhattan School of Music, Humboldt Universität, and Freie Universität Berlin.

Hinke specializes in new music-theater pieces based on scientific texts, created in collaboration with director Carlos Manuel. His compositions have been performed by major orchestras including Deutsche Oper Berlin and Hamburg Symphony Orchestra at international festivals. He actively develops arts education programs for Berlin public schools and leads experimental composition workshops globally.
