Manuel Nawri is a Professor at both the Hochschule für Musik 'Hanns Eisler' Berlin since 2008 and the Hochschule für Musik Saar in Saarbrücken since 2018. He specializes in Composition, Music Theory, Music Education, Musicology, Music Informatics, and Music Journalism. Born in Überlingen, he studied at the conservatories in Freiburg and Odessa, and was a scholarship holder at the International Ensemble Modern Academy and Tanglewood Music Festival.
His career includes collaborations with renowned orchestras such as the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, WDR and SWR symphony orchestras, and ensembles like Ensemble Modern. He directs opera performances at institutions including the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Theater Essen, and international venues in Melbourne, Moscow, and Paris. Since 2013, he has been the musical director of the 'New Scenes' at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Nawri’s discography includes Opus Klassik-winning recordings and entries on the German Record Critics' Prize Best List. He actively engages in youth orchestra projects and academic teaching, sharing his expertise in contemporary music performance and pedagogy.
