Mathew Coleman

Mathew Coleman is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Geography at The Ohio State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from UCLA (2005), an M.A. in Political Economy from Carleton University (1999), and B.A. degrees in Political Science from Carleton University and Université d'Ottawa.

His research examines immigration law and politics with specific focus on the U.S.-Mexico border, interior immigration enforcement, critical geopolitics, and the geographies of state power and resistance. Recent work critically analyzes racialized police violence and its relationship to legal structures.
