Michael Klajbor

Michael Klajbor is a Lecturer and Graduate Instructor at the Department of Communication within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Illinois. His research explores the intersections of rhetoric, public discourse, and social justice, with a focus on U.S./Mexico borderlands and immigration policy.

His research interests include Border Rhetorics, Critical Geographies, Immigration Policy, and Critical Cultural Rhetoric. Klajbor's work interrogates racialized rhetoric in political discourse, particularly in Donald Trump's immigration policies, and examines activist resistance to enforcement practices.

Scientific awards and honors include the Graduate College Fellow (2021-2024), NCA Activism and Social Justice Top Paper Award (2022), and recognition from the Illinois Summer Pre-doctoral Institute (2020).
