Maryke Neiberg

Dr. Maryke Neiberg serves as Dean and Chief Executive Officer of the University of Detroit Mercy's School of Optometry. She previously held leadership roles as Dean and Associate Professor at MCPHS University's School of Optometry, and as Inaugural Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Midwestern University College of Optometry. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry and completed a residency in Primary Care at Nova Southeastern University.

Her research focuses on neuro-ophthalmologic diseases and ocular complications from systemic conditions. She has authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and frequently presents at national/international conferences. Dr. Neiberg is a distinguished educator, recognized with teaching awards and the California State Optometric Association's Excellence in Optometric Education Award.

She actively serves on leadership boards, including the Executive Board of the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) and the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists (MSO). In addition to her administrative duties, she maintains clinical practice and course direction roles within the School of Optometry's curriculum.
