Marybeth Gorman Craig

Marybeth Gorman Craig is an Instructor of Theatre at the University of South Carolina's Department of Theatre and Dance, teaching acting, directing, and intimacy practices since 2015. A professional actor and director with Actors' Equity Association membership, she has performed at venues including Playhouse on the Square, Arden Theatre Company, and Utah Shakespeare Festival.

She holds an MFA in Acting from University of South Carolina and BA from Temple University. Her pedagogical approach integrates professional performance experience with innovative intimacy choreography techniques.

Research focuses on intimacy direction, consent-based performance practices, dialect coaching, and theatrical pedagogy. As an intimacy director and coordinator, she develops protocols for safe performance environments and teaches workshops nationally on consent practices.

Notable roles include Helen in 'Big Red Sun', Helen in 'Fun Home', and Blanche in 'A Streetcar Named Desire'. She maintains active creative practice while developing pedagogical frameworks for ethical performance training.
