Mary Turner is Professor of Chemistry at Maryville College's Division of Natural Sciences, where she has taught since 2003. Her courses include Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Introductory Chemistry, along with Core curriculum courses exploring science-society intersections. She earned her B.S. at Harding University and Ph.D. at Rice University under Dr. Vicki Colvin, focusing on nanostructured materials.
Research interests focus on improving chemical education methodologies and developing analytical techniques for research/industrial applications. She served as Chair of the Core curriculum since 2014 and contributes to the Scots Science Scholars program through academic leadership.
Maryville College's Division of Natural Sciences provides foundational STEM education with interdisciplinary connections to pharmacy and biopharmaceutical science programs, where Dr. Turner's expertise supports the college's 3-4 accelerated pathway with partner pharmacy schools.
