Mary Marcel

Mary Marcel is an Associate Professor at Bentley University, holding joint appointments in the departments of Experience Design and Information Design and Corporate Communication. She earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley, alongside a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia. Her work bridges communication theory, social justice, and business ethics.

Her teaching focuses on managerial communication, crisis management, intercultural dialogue, and anti-racism. Research interests include rhetoric, scapegoating dynamics, gender in media, and the psychology of trauma. She advises on improving presentation skills and DEI initiatives.
