Mary Kothman

Mary Kothman is Instructor of Violin at Western Michigan University's Irving S. Gilmore School of Music. She maintains an active performance career with regional orchestras including the Kalamazoo Symphony, Ft. Wayne Philharmonic, and Lansing Symphony. Her teaching focuses on violin technique, chamber music, and contemporary repertoire.

Educational background includes Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in Violin Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. She previously taught at Montana State University, Ball State University, and Taylor University.

Professional service includes board membership for the Michigan Chapter of the American String Teacher's Association and Crescendo Academy of Music.
