Mary Beth Alexander

Mary Beth Alexander is an Adjunct Professor at the University of St. Thomas, specializing in Orff Schulwerk music education. She teaches K-4th grade music and movement at The Nightingale-Bamford School in New York City, where she also leads a middle school drumming elective and serves on the Lower School leadership team. She holds a B.A. in Music from Vassar College and a M.A. in Music Education from the University of St. Thomas, completing Mastery Certifications in both Orff and Kodály approaches.

Her work emphasizes equity and inclusivity through culturally responsive teaching practices. She teaches Level I Basic courses at the University of St. Thomas and contributes to the Memphis Orff Course movement program. Alexander maintains an active performing career as a singer and violinist in NYC.
