Marwan Ghandour

Marwan Ghandour is the Director of the School of Architecture, Emogene Pliner Professor, and Graduate Coordinator at Louisiana State University (LSU). Previously, he held roles as a professor and director of interdisciplinary graduate programs (Urban Design and Sustainable Environments) at Iowa State University. He teaches theory seminars and design studios, focusing on urban and architectural integration.

His research explores urban regeneration strategies in the global south (e.g., Beirut, Lima, Kigali), comparative urban management in the American Midwest and Latin America, and geo-communal design integrating ecology, infrastructure, and politics. He is a partner at Bawader Architects, specializing in institutional architecture and urban design projects in Lebanon. He served as interim director of LSU’s Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture (2023–2024).
