Martyn J. Miller

Martyn J. Miller serves as the Assistant Vice President for Global Engagement at Temple University, overseeing the Center for American Language and Culture, Center for Chinese Language and Instruction, International Student Affairs (ISA), and International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). He also teaches a university seminar on Global Citizenship and supports international partnerships and student recruitment in the Middle East, North Africa, and Indian subcontinent.

An Arab-American fluent in English and Levantine Arabic, Miller was raised in Syria and Lebanon. His deep familial ties to Temple include paternal grandparents who served as faculty (1915–1918) and daughters who are graduates, driving his commitment to international student success.

Miller's professional focus centers on cross-cultural exchange and global engagement, leveraging regional expertise in MENA to enhance international education. He leads strategic initiatives across Temple's international offices, fostering cultural programming and student support services while promoting Philadelphia's urban heritage through community engagement.
