Martin Storey is a Cello Lecturer and internationally renowned cellist. He has held principal cello roles with prestigious orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Opera, and major British orchestras such as the Philharmonia and London Symphony Orchestra. His career spans over three decades of solo, chamber, and orchestral performances across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Storey was a founding member of the Gould Piano Trio, winning three international competitions and performing at major venues like the BBC Proms. He has recorded works for EMI, ASV, Naxos, and Oxford Classics, including the Brahms Cello Sonatas. His teaching includes masterclasses at institutions globally, such as the Royal Academy of Music (London), Trinity College London, and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Glasgow).
From 2001-2010, he was Cello Professor at Park University in Kansas City, USA, while maintaining an active solo and chamber music career. Since 2010, he has been based in Glasgow as Principal Cellist of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
