Martin Rieck is the Pro-Rector for Artistic Practice and International Relations at the Rostock University of Music and Drama (since 2021) and holds a lecturer position in singing for teacher education degrees there. He has been a lecturer in voice at the Dresden University of Music since 2015. From 2016–2017, he led the Singing Department at the District Music School in East Saxony and prepared applicants for entrance exams at the Landesgymnasium für Musik in Dresden.
Born in 1990, Rieck completed a Master of Music in Voice and Vocal Pedagogy in Dresden, studying under Piotr Bednarski and Olaf Bär. His operatic roles include Pyramus (J.F. Lampe), Basilio (Mozart), Monostatos, Pedrillo, Max (Weber), and Remus (Scott Joplin’s German premiere of *Treemonisha*). He has performed with orchestras like the Elbland Philharmonic, Dresden State Operetta Orchestra, and Leipzig Baroque Orchestra, specializing in works by Bach, Handel, and Lehár.
Rieck collaborates with renowned conductors (Hans-Christoph Rademann, Ekkehard Klemm) and directors (Rainer Wenke, Sebastian Ritschel), and appears frequently in recitals like *Lied in Dresden*. He is a BDG (German Singing Teachers Association) member and maintains an active performance schedule across Germany, praised for his "powerful, bright tenor" and "sonorous voice" by *das orchester* and *Der Opernfreund*.
His teaching focuses on vocal technique and stagecraft for teacher education programs, blending academic rigor with practical performance experience.
