Martin Brown

Senior Lecturer Martin Brown is affiliated with the University of Sydney's School of Medical Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. He serves as Co-Director of the FMH Media Lab and holds a BA, Dip Ed, and M.Hum. His career includes work in theatre and film credits such as Moulin Rouge and Romeo+Juliet, alongside leadership at the Australian Film Television and Radio School.

Research focuses on integrating storytelling and emerging technologies (VR/AI) to create immersive clinical training tools. Notable projects include VR avatars for de-escalation training, palliative care HCI systems, and VR cognitive assessment for geriatric patients. He has received awards like the 2023 FMH Makers and Shapers Award for teaching excellence and 2021 Unreal Epic Mega Grant.
