Marshall Covert

Marshall Covert is a Senior Lecturer in the Communication Department at Clemson University, affiliated with the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences. His academic focus centers on rhetoric, rhetorical agency, identity, media effects, and public speaking.

• Education: M.A. in Organizational Communication (Western Kentucky University, 2018), B.A. in Communication Studies (Western Kentucky University, 2014).

Marshall combines teaching and research with a passion for rhetoric, argumentation, debate, and practical communication applications. He directs the Southern Margins International Short Film Festival and mentors students in competitive speech and debate, achieving national and state-level success.
