Dr. Mark Wilder serves as Dean and KPMG Chair of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi's Patterson School of Accountancy. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Alabama (1985), an M.B.A. in Accounting from the University of South Alabama (1989), and a Ph.D. in Accounting from Florida State University (1994). A Certified Public Accountant, he has been faculty since 1993 specializing in financial accounting.
His research examines financial reporting practices, corporate disclosures, and compensation structures. Publications analyze voluntary disclosure patterns in international markets and stock option repricing mechanics. Research intersects accounting standards, corporate governance, and financial policy.
Dr. Wilder received the university's top teaching and research awards including the 2005 Elsie M. Hood Outstanding Teacher Award and 2004 Faculty Achievement Award. He developed the School's internship program and actively serves in the Mississippi Society of CPAs through leadership roles including Board of Governors and committee chairs.
