Mark Titmarsh is a tenured part-time lecturer in Design Studies at the University of Technology Sydney's School of Design. A multidisciplinary visual artist, critic, and curator, he works across painting, video, text, and expanded media, with a focus on 'expanded painting' that dissimulates into objects, performances, and digital formats.

Research Interests center on post-medium art conditions, ontological aesthetics of color, intersections of art and technology, and urban cultural practices. His recent works explore fluorescent installations, industrial material paintings, and mobile video art.
Publications include the book Expanded Painting (Bloomsbury, 2017) and contributions to transdisciplinary imaging conferences. His projects have been exhibited globally, including at the Institute of Modern Art (Brisbane), Artspace (Sydney), and biennales in Greece and Australia.
Scientific Awards include the Grace Cossington Smith Art Award (2016), Australian Audi Art Prize finalist (2007), and international film festival recognitions. He has received production and travel grants from Australian Film Commission and Visual Arts Board.
