Mark Mullane, PhD, is a Lecturer of History in the Honors Program at the University of Southern Maine. His teaching focuses on interdisciplinary topics blending history, literature, and culture, including Viking sagas, J.R.R. Tolkien’s medievalist scholarship, and Norwegian history. He coordinates courses such as HON 101: Iceland: Viking Sagas & Skalds and HON 202: A History of Norway, emphasizing Northern European heritage. Mullane also leads the Honors Abroad course exploring justice narratives in traditional Northern maritime communities. He is based in Anderson Hall, Room 104C.
