Tom Coash

Tom Coash is a Professor in the Stonecoast MFA in Creative Writing program at the University of Southern Maine. A Louisville-based playwright and director, he previously taught playwriting at The American University in Cairo, Egypt, and co-founded the Offstage Theatre in Charlottesville, Virginia. His work spans international theaters including London’s Park Theatre and New York’s Ensemble Studio Theatre.

Coash’s research focuses on playwriting innovation and cross-cultural theatrical production. Notable achievements include the Lorraine Hansberry Award and a Jerome Fellowship. His plays CRY HAVOC and VEILS exemplify his exploration of modern dramatic narratives.

He organizes festivals like the 'Still Crazy After All These Years New Play Festival' (New Haven) and 'Famous For 15 Minutes' (Bermuda), fostering senior and emerging playwright communities.
