About
Mark L. Brusseau is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Science (home department) and holds a joint appointment as Professor in Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Arizona. His research focuses on physical, chemical, and biological processes influencing contaminant transport and fate in subsurface environments. He integrates experimental investigations with mechanistic mathematical models to develop innovative methods for subsurface contamination characterization, remediation, and human health risk evaluation.
He earned a Ph.D. in subsurface hydrology and environmental chemistry from the University of Florida in 1989. His expertise spans environmental science, with a strong emphasis on practical applications in contaminated site management and sustainable environmental solutions.
Brusseau’s work bridges theoretical and applied research, contributing to both academic advancements and real-world environmental problem-solving. His office is located in Saguaro Hall, Room 312, and he can be reached at brusseau@arizona.edu.
