Dr. Mark A. Sloniger is a Professor of Strength and Conditioning and the MS Coordinator in the Department of Allied and Public Health at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He holds a BS in Biology from IUP, an MS and PhD in Exercise Science from the University of Georgia, and completed post-doctoral research at Duke University Medical Center as an NIH Research Training Fellow. His professional certifications include the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA).
Dr. Sloniger teaches courses such as Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, and Advanced Exercise Physiology. His expertise spans biomechanical analysis, physiological assessment, and applied exercise science in clinical and sports settings. He coordinates the Master of Science program in Exercise Science, emphasizing hands-on training and interdisciplinary approaches.
Professional activities include curriculum development, advising students, and contributing to the Allied and Public Health Department’s mission. Office hours are available Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00-4:30 p.m. in Zink Hall, Room 241.
