Marja Vierros is a Professor of Classical Philology at the University of Helsinki's Department of Languages, Faculty of Arts. She led the ERC-funded 'Digital Grammar of Greek Documentary Papyri' project (2018–2023) and previously worked on projects like SEMATIA and 'Act of the Scribe.' Her research focuses on linguistic variation in Ancient Greek/Latin, language contact, papyrology, digital classics, and scribal literacy in antiquity. She holds a PhD in Greek language and literature from the University of Helsinki (2011).
