Marius Johansen

Marius Johansen is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Community Medicine and Global Health, University of Oslo (2020-2024). He holds affiliations with the Faculty of Medicine and serves as the editor of Metodebok for seksuell helse, Norway's leading medical handbook on contraception, STIs, and SRHR. Previously, he was a Senior Consultant at Seks og samfunn (Norway’s largest sexual health clinic) from 2011–2020, and worked at Bærum Hospital’s gynecology department and Lillestrøm Medical Center as a general practitioner. Johansen is also a topic expert for venereology in the Store norske leksikon since 2016.

Research Interests: His work focuses on SRHR, gynecological disorders (e.g., endometriosis, menstrual irregularities), STIs, hormonal contraception, and epidemiological methods using health registers. He integrates clinical practice with public health advocacy, emphasizing accessible sexual healthcare.

Teaching & Outreach: He teaches contraception, STIs, and related topics at multiple Norwegian universities and colleges. His outreach includes editing key medical resources and contributing to public health discourse.
