Marissa Becker is Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba's Max Rady College of Medicine, with cross-appointments in Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. She directs technical collaborations at the Institute for Global Public Health.
Her research employs program science frameworks to study HIV and infectious disease risks among marginalized populations in Manitoba, India, Kenya, and Ukraine. Current focus areas include adolescent girls, young women, and female sex workers. She serves as President of the Canadian Association for HIV Research.
Honors include CIHR funding, the Aubie Angel Young Investigator Award, and Manitoba Health Research Council Professorship.
