Marisa J. Fuentes

Marisa J. Fuentes is an Associate Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies at Rutgers University, where she has been on faculty since 2009. She holds a Ph.D. in African American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley (2007). Her research focuses on gender, power, and sexuality in colonial contexts, particularly enslaved women’s experiences in the 18th-century Caribbean.
