Marion Traun

Marion Traun is a Professor of Voice at the JAM MUSIC LAB Private University for Jazz and Popular Music, leading the Institute for Vocals within the Faculty of Music. She holds advanced degrees from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, including a Master's (2018) and Bachelor's (2015) in Vocal Popular Music with distinction. Her pedagogical work emphasizes contemporary vocal techniques across jazz, pop, soul, and gospel genres.

Teaching roles include positions at the JAM MUSIC LAB since 2016, Friedrich Gulda School of Music, and School of Popmusic Linz/Vienna. She actively performs as a singer-songwriter, arranger, and vocal coach, collaborating with groups like Velvet Voices (Jazz/Pop) and libellaswing (Salsa/Latin). Notable projects include the 2020 CD The Colors of Mercy with Willi Platzer and the gospel-focused I see the Lord (2013–2015).

Her artistic output spans studio recordings, live performances at venues like the Wiener Konzerthaus, and educational workshops. Since 2020, she volunteers as a worship leader at Vienna's Citykirche. Recent work includes live sessions and digital releases like In Your Arms (2020) and Neverending Melody (featuring cello collaborations).
