Mario Prost is a Senior Lecturer at Keele Law School, Keele University, and serves as Programme Director of the LLM in International Law. He is a recognized scholar in international legal theory, with a focus on the colonial history of environmental law and critical approaches to transnational arbitration.

Dr Prost’s research spans international legal theory, international environmental law, and critical legal studies. His work critically examines the colonial legacies embedded in international environmental law and challenges the disciplinary biases in investor-state arbitration. He also explores the fragmentation of international law and its implications for global legal coherence.

Supervision and Research Leadership:
Dr Prost supervises several PhD students working at the intersection of international law, environmental justice, and sovereignty. His mentorship includes projects on climate change and deterritorialized states, environmental law reform via the UN Security Council, and the ethics of drone warfare in settler colonial contexts.
